DPD’s acquisition of CitySprint, announced in August, has received the approval of the Competition & Markets Authority (CMA). This means that DPD customers can now access same day and express services from CitySprint and that CitySprint customers can access next day UK delivery services together with international delivery options.
DPD commented: “We are delighted to have received confirmation from the CMA that the planned acquisition of CitySprint has been approved. We will be working closely with the CitySprint team in the coming weeks to finalise the transaction and we are looking forward to our future together and the opportunities that will bring.”
DPD is wholly owned by La Poste, France which is the second largest postal group in Europe.
