Writing off the £1.2 million debt incurred as part of House of Fraser’s administration, Dune has posted a year in which both its sales and profits fell. For the year to January 26th, the footwear retailer saw sales dip by four per cent year-on-year to £143 million with gross profit down by 3.6 per cent, at £86.1 million.
It had, however, opened six outlet stores and five concessions during the period as well as having grown its online sales via its own site by 13 per cent.
In common with other concession holders affected by House of Fraser’s collapse, the business is struggling to replace the sales it had made via the HoF concessions and says that if the HoF write down is removed from its results it is actually doing well in the face of a tough market.
