Dunelm sales up in third quarter

Like-for-like sales for the 13 weeks to 31st March rose by 5.1 per cent to £268.2 million at Dunelm with its online like-for-like growing by 35.7 per cent. The business which operates 169 stores had seen its share price plummet, following a profit warning and the exit of its CFO in March, but it has since rebounded.

Dunelm CEO Nick Wilkinson said:”We’ve seen a good sales performance over the quarter, with like-for-like sales of 1.2 per cent in stores and 35.7 per cent online, despite a challenging consumer backdrop. Our continuing market share gains in the homewares category reflect the underlying strength of our brand and operating model and enhance our position as market leader. As a result, our expectations for the full year remain unchanged.”
