Dunelm third quarter sales disappoint

Dunelm has reported its third-quarter sales with the comment that its trading is continuing to be impacted by a decline in the homewares market. Its sales to 1st April stood at £255.1 million overall but excluding Worldstores it was £231.3 million, just one per cent over the figure achieved last year. The business had though seem strong growth online and said that its integration of the Worldstores business was proceeding well.

CEO John Browett said “We remain excited by the acquisition of Worldstores. The business has stabilised and our integration plans are going well. Our home delivery channel goes from strength to strength and will be enhanced by the significant benefits that the acquisition provides to our product range, including the Kiddicare brand, delivery, and speed of IT development.”
