International Dutch retail institution, HEMA – currently celebrating its 90th anniversary – is continuing its UK expansion, adding another London location to its portfolio with a seventh site launching in London Euston station. Officially opened by HEMA’s CEO Tjeerd Jegen, HEMA Supervisory Board Chairman Andrew Jennings and Dutch Ambassador to the UK, Simon Smits, the new 200m2 store will continue HEMA’s ethos of providing quality, affordable convenience for consumers. The Dutch lifestyle retailer is known for its high quality, expert design and
affordable prices for everyday essentials, with all products designed in-house at HEMA’s Amsterdam HQ.
Tjeerd Jegen, HEMA CEO, commented: “London Euston is one of the busiest stations in the UK, and our new store provides the ultimate destination for both travellers and busy London commuters. Consumers’ consumption habits are changing as people are looking to get more for less and our philosophy has always been about making life easier for those on-the-go by providing affordable quality under one roof. Now is an opportune time for us to be expanding further into the UK market.” The opening is part of a larger expansion plan for the UK,
joining its current British stores in Kingston upon Thames, Victoria Place Shopping Centre (London), Stansted Airport, Bromley (Kent), Birmingham New Street Station and Hammersmith Broadway Shopping Centre.
