A good Easter helped sales at confectioner Thorntons
increase 4 percent to £60.6 million in the third quarter. Own-branded UK
commercial sales grew by 10 percent to £27.4 million. Due to website problems,
Thorntons Direct sales declined 4.6 percent to £2.2 million. However, the
company experienced growth at Easter as improvements from the new website began
to feed through.
