eBay UK is preparing to launch its own ‘managed payment experience’ this summer following successful trials in Germany and the USA. Its separation from Paypal offers an opportunity for eBay to eradicate some of the problems experienced by its customers when it comes to refunds. The new service which should be rolled out to business sellers by the end of the year will mean that eBay will be the sole source of contact for customers, offering greater efficiencies when it comes to resolving payment disputes.
eBay UK VP Rob Hattrell said: “By starting to manage payments in the UK this year, we’re taking another step to deliver improvements for our customers. We know that sellers and buyers expect smooth and seamless transactions, and this new payments experience is designed to offer exactly that. In the coming months, we will make the transaction as smooth as possible for sellers so they can take advantage of this important update quickly.”
