eBuyer, which was acquired by Mark Reed and Rich Marsden in 2023 from West Retail Group, has been snapped up by Frasers Group.
eBuyer specialises in the direct sale of PCs, PC components and accessories and had struggled in recent years, posting a fall in turnover to £136.5m with a pre-tax loss of £1.76m for Y/E Dec ’25, due to difficult trading conditions. Having been served with a winding-up petition by its landlord, eBuyer’s directors appointed FRP Advisory’s Tony Wright and Alistair Massey as administrators on August 8th.
FRP Advisory partner Tony Wright commented: “Frasers Group has an established record of successfully taking retail brands forward and unlocking their potential. eBuyer is a recognised name in the consumer technology space, and this transaction provides a platform it can use to reestablish its position as one of the UK’s largest PC components retailers.”
It is not currently known how many of eBuyer’s employees will transfer to Frasers Group.
