The European Commission has fined Google £1.27 billion for its alleged illegal practices in search advertising. The US giant is accused of breaching EU antitrust laws between 2006 and 2016, according to Margrethe Vestager, European Commission for Competition who said: “Google has engaged in illegal practices when it comes to their search advertising brokering in order to cement its dominant market position.”
This is the third time that Google has been fined by the European Commission.
