On the evening of 27th February more than 500 market leaders from
the catalogue, multi-channel and retail sectors gathered with
leading suppliers to learn who had won ECMOD Awards for their
achievements in the full calendar year of 2006. Sponsored by
Royal Mail, Stibo, Abacus Direct, Fresh Vision, ThorneycroftBell,
Careerzone, CataloguesCatalogues and The Catalogue Exchange, the
annual ECMOD Awards recognise and applaud best practice,
outstanding achievements and strong performance delivered by
companies which operate via multiple channels to sell direct to
their customers.
The Catalogue Exchange sponsored Lifetime Achievement Award was
bestowed on Direct Wines founder Tony Laithwaite in recognition
of his entrepreneurship in developing an outstanding business
over the past three decades. The presentation to Tony Laithwaite
was made by Mark Dugdale, chief executive of Flying Flowers and
elected chairman of not-for-profit trade body The Catalogue
