Euronics has acquired a new 125,000 sq.ft. facility on the M1 at Barnsley and is set to create 70 new jobs there. Combined Independents (Holdings) Ltd, the national group of independent retailers behind the Euronics brand, will have 12 dock level loading bays, 23 HGV spaces, as well as offices on the new site.
Steve Scogings, chairman, said: “This is a significant investment for CIH on behalf of its members, but one that we are confident that it will be worth its weight in gold. It gives us exactly what we need as a business. We now have access to purpose-built, high-quality space in the right location to buy and hold more stock of our key product lines. This will help CIH members serve their customers in the right way, with speed, efficiency and to the highest possible standard.”
