Fenwick has joined the ranks of retail chains seeking to modernise and reorganise business operations. Under its new CEO Robbie Feather, it is seeking to centralise its operations – much of which is currently run separately by each store and which will lead to some redundancies – as well as develop its online capabilities. The retailer’s Newcastle headquarters will house all HR, IT and finance departments for the chain of 10 stores.
In a statement, the business said it was moving to a functionally led structure whilst retaining its local focus. The proposals form part of a broader strategy including upgrades in IT and eCommerce and refurbishment of its flagship Newcastle store.
