The Fenwick department store branch in Windsor will close in the next few months. A company spokesperson alluded to the under-performance of the business and the ravages of online shopping having whittled away the store’s viability. The proposed closure which is out to consultation with staff will see staff offered alternative employment at a new Fenwick store due to open in Bracknell in the Autumn. In the past Windsor had boasted a John Lewis department store along with Fenwicks and Daniels. Only Daniels will now remain in the town.
