Fortnum & Mason achieves strong growth

Fortnum & Mason has reported sales of £126 million for the year ended July 2018, a 12 per cent uplift on its 2017 performance. During the year the business had focused on developing new international partnerships and had recruited additional UK and overseas customers. Online sales had grown by 21 per cent and the retailer had delivered products to customers in 125 countries. Bucking the current trend, Fortnum & Mason’s Piccadilly store had posted a 10 per cent rise in its like-for-like revenues and its travel terminal stores had also enjoyed strong sales growth.

In Hong Kong sales had risen by 55 per cent and the retailer has opened outlets in Shinsegae Gangnam and Shinsegae Gyong-Gi in South Korea.

CEO Ewan Venters commented: “This year has not been without its challenges. but we’re proud to report another exceptional trading period.” Adding, “By being faithful to our heritage and pedigree. focusing on the creation of extraordinary products and exceptional service, and delivering our world-renowned products to customers anywhere in the world, I am pleased that we are able to meet the growing demand for quality and impeccably-sourced products.”
