British fashion brand Fred Perry has settled a dispute with
SecretSales.com over the sale of counterfeit polo shirts bearing the Fred Perry
name and laurel wreath logo-both registered trademarks. Commenting, Nish
Kukadia, Secret Sales chief executive told Direct Commerce that “Secret Sales
remains focused on selling genuine branded product. We were assured that they
were genuine goods and as soon as we were made aware of the issue from Fred
Perry we closed the sale and worked with Fred Perry to resolve the matter. We
remain focused on quality for our customers and total cooperation with our key
brand partners.” Earlier this year, The Hut Group was found to be selling
counterfeit Fred Perry goods on its website, according to the Manchester
Evening News.
