The Chinese business Trinity Ltd has entered administration, according to reports, following its failure to secure a buyer for Gieves & Hawkes. Other affected brands include Kent & Curwen and Cerutti. Gieves & Hawkes has been in the ownership of Trinity for ten years and formed part of its drive to compete against European brands.
It is being suggested that Marks & Spencer is interested in potentially acquiring Gieves & Hawkes but that there had been no confirmed deal.
