Google to invest US$550m in JD.com

Google is set to invest US$ 550m in JD.com, in return for over 27 million newly issued JD.com Class A ordinary shares, as part of a collaboration in which the two businesses will jointly develop solutions to improve online shopping experiences via personalisation. The stated shared goal is to create next generation infrastructure solutions which will deliver frictionless shopping. JD will also make certain products available for sale through Google Shopping in various regions.
