Frasers Group is understood to have acquired the business and assets of Greaves Sports, rather than its existing corporate entity. The retailer’s sole remaining store on Glasgow’s Gordon Street is expected to continue trading under the Greaves name, although the value of the deal has not been disclosed.
Companies House records show that Greaves Sports Limited changed its name to Clydesdale Sports Retail Limited in June, shortly before moving its registered office away from the Gordon Street premises. The former operating company remains controlled by Greaves Holdings Limited.
Its latest available accounts cover the year to 31 January 2025. Turnover was not disclosed, but the business employed 47 people and reported net assets of approximately £3.04m.
