Harrods reduces headcount

Harrods is reducing its workforce by 680 in the areas of its business most badly impacted by coronavirus. The department store which is a top destination for overseas visitors to London has seen footfall and sales plummet post-lockdown.

“With a heavy heart, today I need to confirm that due to the ongoing impacts of this pandemic, we as a business will need to make reductions to our workforce,” said CEO Michael Ward.
