Hays Travel will take all of the 555 Thomas Cook shops it can agree terms for, together with as many of its associated staff as can be hired, having struck a deal with the Official Receiver for the failed Thomas Cook business. Hays is a minnow in comparison to Thomas Cook, as prior to this acquisition it operated 190 shops. It will now also create 100 new head office jobs at its Sunderland HQ.
