Online meal kit business HelloFresh is set to open a new distribution centre this Spring. The new premises are located in Spondon, Derby on the SmartParc food campus – a new development on a brownfield site – and HelloFresh expects to employ around 450 local staff across operations, distribution and management functions.
CEO Laurent Guillemain said: “We are very excited about it, it should bring strong collaboration in terms of sustainability. Location is incredibly important for production facilities and distribution facilities. There are going to be thousands of boxes coming out of here every year.
“It is also fantastic to be one of the first major brands to join SmartParc. The campus sets a precedent for the best in sustainable design and collaboration.”
