L Brands Inc has announced that it will close all 23 of its Henri Bendel stores including its Fifth Avenue, New York flagship which it has occupied since the 1920s. The luxury fashion retailer has been incurring operating losses (US$45 million) on falling sales (US$85 million) and is no longer considered to be viable.
