Fire broke out at Hermes central distribution centre in Warrington yesterday. Happily there were no injuries and no damage caused to customer parcels. Hermes has diverted some of its parcel shipments to its Bradford facility where it has taken on additional staff to process them. The carrier has said that problems will be resolved quite quickly but that delays to some deliveries already in its system or awaiting collection by couriers or from its Parcelshop outlets are inevitable.
