Heroes acquires Trunki owner Magmatic

Rob Law has negotiated a sale of Magmatic, the business which developed, manufactures and markets children’s Trunki ride-on suitcases. It is being acquired by Heroes an eCommerce group founded by three brothers which is focused on the infant and maternity market. Magmatic manufactures its own products in Plymouth and its 60 strong workforce will retain their jobs under the new ownership with Law staying on as general manager.

Law commented: “It became apparent after the first few discussions that Heroes was the right buyer for Trunki. The Bruno brothers’ vision for the brand was far more ambitious and creative than what other buyers presented. Whilst Trunki has been around for over 16 years, we couldn’t be more excited for the next chapter of our journey.”

Heroes was funded in 2020 and owns 35 brands. Its founders said: “We are extremely excited for Trunki and the team to join the Heroes family and embark on the next journey together. The acquisition will further strengthen our core focus in the baby and children category and gives us further expansion into retail and worldwide distribution.”
