H&M online sales rise

UK sales at H&M rose by 8 per cent in the retailer’s recently filed results with online sales up by 38 per cent reflecting its efforts to catch up with competitors in the online arena. The improved results follow heavy investment in its overall offering including a new mobile app, improved delivery options for customers, as well as click and collect facilities rolled out to all stores.

Across the group, total sales were £17.8 billion. “It has been a challenging year for H&M group and the industry but after a difficult first half there are signs the company’s transformation efforts are beginning to take effect,” commented CEO Karl-Johan Persson.
