Back in the summer when Hobbs’ finance director Loraine
Woodhouse left for John Lewis Partnership a few eyebrows were raised
particularly as the fashion retailer was said to be preparing to float.
Then news came in January that eCommerce Director Gracia
Amico was leaving the businesses after a poor trading quarter. Notably though
21 per cent of Hobbs’ UK sales had come from its website in 2012/3. We
understand that CEO Nicky Dulieu has now resigned and will leave in the Spring,
although no one at Hobbs is confirming that. The real shame is that Hobbs had
been quietly carving out a strong international following and had committed to
rolling out a series of local-language websites to support overseas growth.
