Homebase axes Irish arm

Homebase, the sister company of Argos, has placed its Irish
arm into examinership after poor trading. The Home Retail Group-owned company
filed a petition with the High Court in Dublin seeking the appointment of an
examiner and the court has now appointed KPMG as interim examiner, providing
protection for Homebase Ireland during the period of examinership. All 15
Homebase Ireland stores will trade as normal during the examinership with all
customers’ ordered products, pre-payments, credit notes and gift vouchers being
fully honoured.
