Australian retail group Wesfarmers, which operates the Coles supermarket chain as well as a DIY/hardware chain called Bunnings has agreed terms with Home retail Group to acquire the Homebase business less its brands Habitat, Schreiber and Hygena.
Homebase will be rebranded as Bunnings over the next five years and the UK business will be lead by Peter Davis as managing director with Rodney Boys as finance director. Davis is currently chief operating officer of Bunnings. In Australia and New Zealand there are 338 Bunnings stores.
