Homebase to axe 300 head office jobs

300 head office jobs are set to go as Hilco gets to grips with its Homebase acquisition. It is being widely reported that up to 80 stores are likely to close and there is mounting speculation that a CVA could be on the cards.  17 Homebase stores have already been closed and 23 more have been earmarked for next phase of closures.

CEO for Homebase Damian McGloughlin said: “We have not taken this decision lightly but decisive action is required to start rebuilding Homebase’s position in the UK market.  We will be providing as much support as we can to help those affected during this difficult time.”
