Hotel Chocolat confirms Angus Thirlwell’s successor

UK success story Hotel Chocolat, which was acquired by Mars last year, has confirmed the promotion of its UK managing director and group marketing officer Alysa Hardy to CEO. Angus Thirlwell, co-founder, now becomes president. Ms Hardy joined Hotel Chocolat as its UK managing director in 2018, having held a number of non-executive director positions, following spells as CMO at Joules and Chief Commercial Officer at Holland & Barrett.

Hardy is credited with having created the company’s Velvetiser hot chocolate maker as well as  driving growth across the UK business.

Hotel Chocolat was one of the founding businesses behind the trade group Catalogue Exchange, which continues today as the Direct Commerce Association (DCA).
