Negotiations with the landlords of three House of Fraser stores – Edinburgh, Hull and Swindon – have failed to deliver new rent terms to enable the affected stores to continue to trade. To date the future of 20 stores has been secured along with the 3500 jobs associated with them.
Mike Ashley, commented: “I would like to thank those landlords who have helped us to rescue approximately 3500 jobs at the stores we have saved to date. I am calling on everybody, including landlords and local authorities to help save as many House of Fraser stores and jobs as possible on the great British high street.”
