A dispute with XPO Logistics which has operated House of Fraser’s distribution centre in Wellingborough saw the 3PL supplier stop receiving and processing deliveries, leaving House of Fraser’s new owner with no option but to stop taking online orders and to cancel orders in process. Site visitors have been redirected to the Flannels website, the upmarket fashion brand operated by Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct. Refunds are being made to customers whose orders have been delayed.
XPO is apparently owed some £30 million by House of Fraser and is one of many suppliers facing an uphill battle to mitigate the losses they have incurred for supply of merchandise and services which failed to be paid for by the department store chain’s previous owners. A number of brands are understood to have removed their stock from House of Fraser stores.
