Houseology in administration

Houseology in administration

Online furniture retailer Houseology is in administration following a drop in sales. Its 23 Glasgow based staff have been made redundant. Stuart Robb and Michelle Elliot of Leonard Curtis Business Rescue & Recovery have been appointed as joint administrators. Robb said: Having assessed the company’s trading and financial performance it was not possible to continue to trade its eCommerce business Houseology.com.”

A spokesperson for Houseology said: “The board explored a number of alternative options for the B2C division. Unfortunately due to exceptionally poor eCommerce trading across the Christmas period and January, and wider market dynamics that showed no signs of improvement in the short to medium term, administration was agreed to be in the best interests of the group going forward. We are confident that the group’s assets will prove attractive to a buyer in the days and weeks to come.”

Houseology Group was formed in 2010 and took over an office furniture called Bureau in 2016 which will continue to trade with Andy Russell as is CEO.
