Bristol eCommerce fulfilment business Huboo has continued its European expansion with the launch of its second warehouse on the continent in Spain. It is set to open a 4,200 sqm logistics centre in Madrid in October, following the opening in June of its first site outside the UK in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The business enables online retailers to access complete end-to-end fulfilment operations and has around 1000 customers.
The firm has opened four sites in and around Bristol, including Avonmouth.
Martin Bysh, co-founder and chief executive of Huboo, said: “Spain is one of the most important economies in the European Union, but the eCommerce market is still in its early stages and has great potential for growth. The quality of the infrastructure and the incredible growth experienced by the eCommerce market over the past year, with online retail sales increasing by 20 per cent in 2020, consolidated our decision to establish ourselves in Spain to offer our fulfilment services.”
“Expanding to other countries in Europe has always been part of our plan, regardless of Brexit. However, with many of our UK customers looking for an EU warehousing and distribution partner, as well as a large untapped local market potential, such as Spain, it made sense to expand into this market.”
