With Poundworld having collapsed owing more than £226 million, and with the deal proffered by the Henderson family which operates a discount chain in Ireland having fallen through, its 335 stores are now on the market. Iceland has reached agreement to take 19 of the stores, four of which it will trade under the recently launched Food Warehouse fascia.
Meanwhile, the administrators of Poundworld continue to see a buyer for the Poundworld brand and related IP.
