J Crew has named Jim Brett has its chief executive officer. He will take up his post in July working alongside chairman Millard Drexler and president Michael Nicholson. Most recently Brett was president at West Elm. Prior to that he had held the role of chief merchandising officer at Urban Outfitters and had spent spells in merchandising roles with Anthropologie, and JC Penney.
