JD Sports has acquired Pretty Green out of administration in a deal which will see the brand’s Manchester flagship store continue to trade along with its online and wholesale activities. It is understood that 67 of Pretty Green’s staff members are retaining their jobs, however, 97 face redundancy as the 11 other Pretty Green stores as well as 33 House of Fraser concessions are being shuttered with immediate effect. Pretty Green was founded by Liam Gallagher who is likely to have lost his investment in the business.
“We are pleased to have secured the sale of the Pretty Green brand,” said joint administrator and Moorfields Advisory partner Simon Thomas. Adding, “We are confident that JD Sports is the right fit for the business and will help to grow its online and wholesale channels.”
