JD Sports has announced that it has increased EBITDA by a full 26 per cent to £171.8 million with like-for-like for sales up by 3 per cent for the 26 weeks to August 4th. The retailer had continued with its new store opening programme in new markets, with 18 additional stores for Europe and 21 in the Asia Pacific region.
Peter Cowgill, JD Sports chairman commented: “This is another record result for your group demonstrating that our multi-brand multichannel premium offer has resilient profitability in its core UK and Ireland market with capacity for continued growth across an increasing number of international markets.”
JD Sports operates 500 UK stores along with 1700 further outlets in overseas markets.
