Compagnie de Saint-Gobain has sold the UK chain Jewson to a Copenhagen headquartered group which also owns a number of German building products brands acquired from Saint-Gobain. Financial details have not been disclosed.

The new agreement will see STARK Group acquiring and operating Saint-Gobain Building Distribution Ltd which encompasses Jewson, Gibbs & Dandy, JP Corry, Jewson Civil Frazer and Minster, and International Timber. The transaction is expected to close on Spring 2023.

STARK Group CEO Soren Olesen said: “We have a strategy that successfully focuses on professional craftsmen and the renovation and maintenance market, which this acquisition fits very well into.

“In 2019 we bought Saint-Gobain’s German distribution business, and there are many similarities in this acquisition. We will do our utmost to develop, grow and invest in the company making it the professional craftsmen’s preferred choice in the UK.”
