John Lewis steals a march on M&S

Surging sales at John Lewis look set to see it replace Marks and Spencer as Britain’s favourite retailer if it continues on its growth path. John Lewis reported sales of £4.23 billion for the first half to the end of July 2013 and said that its online sales in the second half are already showing a 20 per cent uplift. Pundits expect John Lewis to reach or exceed M&S UK sales of £9 billion by Christmas.
