Whilst Mothercare is in the doldrums Jojo Maman Bebe has reported record sales and profits for the year to June 30th. Profit was up by 6.8 per cent as sales rose by 20 per cent to reach £57.5 million. During the year the business had opened eight new stores and focused on boosting its web performance with online sales rising by 39.8 per cent as a result. The multichannel retailer, which scooped an armful of trophies at last year’s Direct Commerce Awards, sells in 50 countries around the world and is poised to open its first stores in the USA.
