Former ASOS Director, Jon Kamaluddin, has been appointed as the new chairman of Klarna’s Board of Directors.
“I look forward to leading the board as Klarna continues its exciting journey to make online shopping smoother, simpler and safer,” he said.
Jon Kamaluddin was the international director at ASOS from 2009 to 2013 after having spent five years as CFO. In his role as international director, Kamaluddin led ASOS’s global expansion, into markets including the U.S., Russia, China, Germany, and Australia, which helped ASOS grow its overseas sales. He also served as a member of the ASOS Board of Directors. He joined Klarna’s Board of Directors in 2014.
“We are excited that Jon has accepted this new role. With his experience in global e-commerce, he is the perfect candidate to lead Klarna’s board going forward,” said Sebastian Siemiatkowski, CEO and Founder of Klarna.
This announcement follows the launch of Klarna’s financing solution in the UK with all of Arcadia Group’s iconic brands – including Topshop and Miss Selfridge. Founded in 2005, Klarna is Europe’s leading payments provider and was recently named as one of the top disrupter companies in the world by CNBC.
Klarna works together with 65,000 merchants to offer payment solutions to more than 45 million users in Europe and North America. Klarna has 1,500 employees and is active in 18 countries.
