Joules grows sales in maiden AIM year

For the 52 weeks to 29th May, Joules recorded sales of £131.3 million with retail sales up by 12.8 per cent, online sales up by 17.3 per cent. Wholesale sales rose by 18.3 per cent including contribution from international accounts. Pre-tax profit was up by 41.5 per cent to £7.5 million. The number of active Joules customers grew by 33 per cent to 824,000.

Commenting on the results, CEO Colin Porter said “FY16 was a transformational year in the development and expansion of the Joules brand which included our successful admission to AIM in May. We have delivered strong growth across our Retail and Wholesale channels, significantly increasing profitability by effectively leveraging our operating cost base. Our active customer base and international sales have also grown impressively, all of which is a great testament to the growing strength and appeal of Joules as a premium lifestyle brand.”
