Laura Ashley has reported sales of £303.6 million for the 53 weeks to 31st January 2015 and has increased its profits to £23.5 million, from £20.5 million last year. Online sales had grown by 8.6 per cent and, as a result, 17.8 per cent of the retailer’s sales were generated via digital channels. A new French site had been launched and a German one is set to follow as the brand extends its reach into Europe. Three new UK stores were opened during the year whilst seven were closed. Overall sales of the brand’s home furnishings offering were steady showing a 0.5 per cent increase whereas its fashion offering fell by 0.1 per cent, both figures like for like.
