Lovehoney brings in new CEO

Lovehoney founders Richard Longhurst and Neal Slateford are to step down from the day to day running of their business, handing the reins over to Sarah Warby who joins as chief executive in September. Warby, was formerly marketing director at Sainsbury’s and held a similar role with Heineken prior to that.

Both Longhurst and Slateford will remain on Lovehoney’s board together with Philippe Jacobs and Jacob Polny from Telemos Capital, the investment firm which acquired a majority stake in the business last year.

“Lovehoney is a company with an enviable brand reputation both in the industry and with its customers,” said Warby, adding “I’m excited to be part of the next chapter of this amazing growth story and believe we can fulfil Lovehoney’s ambitions for global category leadership.”

Lovehoney was founded in 2002 and for the year ended March 2018 it posted sales of £84.8 million, a figure which has been exceeded for the year to March 2019.

“We’re thrilled that Sarah is joining Lovehoney to take the business to the next level,” said Longhurst and Slateford in a statement.
