Marks & Spencer has announced that in the 13 weeks to
29th June 2013, group sales were up 3.3 percent with total UK sales up 2.7
percent. Food sales rose 4.5 percent in total and 1.8 percent on a
like-for-like basis, while general merchandise was up 0.5 percent in total but
down 1.6 percent on a like-for-like basis. Overall UK like-for-like sales were
flat, up 0.3 percent, with overall international sales up 8.7 percent. Online
sales at M&S soared 29.9 percent in the period.
