Matalan has issued a statement in which it says that it aims to complete its sale process by the end of January 2023.
Whilst the business would not reveal how many parties were interested, it is widely believed that there are four bidders including Matalan founder John Hargreaves who is backed by Elliot Advisers. Hargreaves is widely tipped to be the front-runner.
