Endless LLP has backed Seni Glaister in her management buy-out of The Book People from its previous owner Ted Smart. Based in Godalming, Surrey, The Book People was founded in 1988 and has an annual turnover of £96 million.
Following the buy-out the business will continue to develop its agent based and online sales. Sam Glaister, CEO of The Book People commented, “I’m thrilled that Ted has given me and the team the opportunity to take The Book People forward and I’m delighted to be working with Endless who share my enthusiasm for the future of book selling. I don’t think there has ever been a more exciting time to be in this business and I am very much looking forward to the next chapter.”
Simon Mason who led the deal for Endless said “We have been tracking The Book People’s progress for some iome and when we became aware there was an opportunity to back Seni and take the business to the next level we jumped at the chance. The Book People is a unique business with a lot of potential which has excellent relationships within the publishing community.
