Meltdown at White Stuff

Meltdown at White Stuff

White Stuff which had first begun to consider its long term future at the end of 2018, has now moved to reduce its headcount. It had entered into consultations with staff during May and has now acted to make 100 head office roles redundant, as well as eliminating just under 300 store roles. It has not been confirmed if any of its stores are closing permanently. Its business, the retailer said, has been impacted by Covid-19 which will continue to have an effect on store performance with social distancing likely to impact footfall and sales.

White Stuff is, along with many other retailers, is increasingly reliant on its online trading for the time being, at least.
