Missguided which generated sales of £207 million for the 12 months to March 2017 has advised senior staff at its offices that redundancies are necessary to enable the business to contain its costs. Around 12 per cent of 800 strong workforce will be affected as growth in the business has not been as high as expected.
Founder Nitin Passi said “The business has doubled its number of employees in two years and as a result, some teams are less lean than they need to be. This is a horrible process but it is something we have to face. We have to put investment into the right areas. The business has been massively focused on growth but we do need to make sure we have sustainable growth.”
